As you’d imagine, Google does not allow either malicious software or unwanted software in ads. This is to ensure a good and safe end user experience. To provide a positive experience for all Google users, Google extensively reviews ads, websites, and redirects. It’s important to note that any violation to Google policies can lead to disapproved ads and/or account suspension.
Malicious software, or malware, is software that is designed to harm or get unapproved access to a computer, device, or network. Some of these include computer viruses, ransomware, worms, Trojan horses, spyware, and other malicious programs or apps, forced redirects or redirecting users to an unknown site infected with malware, and ads stealing user credentials from a publisher’s page.
On the other hand, unwanted software is a file or mobile app that is deceptive or has negative effects on a user’s browsing experience.
In your Ads page, check the Status column, and find the ads that are tagged as Not Eligible or Disapproved. Hover over the status to see the policy violation. Then edit the ad or asset so that it complies with the policy. Saving your ad will automatically send it for review.
Click the Appeal button. Select Made changes to comply with policy. And click Submit. After Google team confirm that your assets, website, and redirects are compliant, you can continue to run your ads on Google.
